The Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM) offers programmes in music performance, Instrument and Voice, as well as in Composition, Conducting and Sound Engineering, and electives in subjects such as Pedagogy and Church Music. The Faculty aims to foster and develop student’s individual artistic profile and technical skills drawing on a solid pedagogical foundation and years of artistic professional experience.
Several study programmes are taught in English, which is also spoken by both Faculty and students.
RDAM has an extensive international network and cooperates with some of the world’s leading music academies. Students are ach year offered masterclasses with internationally renowned artists and educators both in person and through Advanced Audio Network Technology that connects RDAM to music academies across the globe. With more than 50% international students and a nationally diverse Faculty, RDAM is a great starting point for students embarking on an international career.
RDAM has more than 60 practise rooms for its roughly 400 students that are easily available by an online booking system in the Academy’s opening hours from 8am to midnight.
The Academy is housed in the former buildings of the Danish Broadcasting Cooperation renovated in 2008 to fit the needs of a contemporary music academy. Acoustically outstanding concert halls, professional recording facilities and AV equipment are all available to students in their studies at RDAM. The Academy has furthermore invested in Distance Learning technology and is at the forefront of integrating its many possibilities in music education alongside other renowned music academies in the US, ASIA, Australia and Europe.
More than 200 concerts are staged each year at the academy making RDAM an integral part of Copenhagen’s music life. In addition, projects with national orchestras, the Royal Theatre, local ensembles and other cultural and artistic institutions offers students a wide range of possibilities for professional experiences.
RDAM sits in the heart of Copenhagen, located in southern Scandinavia and one-to-two hours’ flight from European capitals such as London, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki. Copenhagen is safe, bike, friendly with lots of parks and easy to get around. It is consistently voted one of the most liveable cities in the world. The city has a rich cultural life with world-class concert halls, opera and theatre stages all in close proximity to the Academy.

Aural Training - Master
Description
As a postgraduate student of teaching aural training, you will be part
of a small, but exclusive group. 1-2 students are accepted every year. The study programme is divided into two lines. Both lines include a high professional level of aural training didactics. You choose between specialising in teaching on academy level or teaching on beginner- and intermediate level.Career Opportunities

Description
As a student of the organ, you will receive tuition in the principal studies of solo and liturgical organ playing. You will learn all the various aspects of playing the instrument, and acquire improvisational, artistic and technical skills, as well as an advanced level of theoretical knowledge. Ensemble/Choir Conducting - Master
Description
As a ensemble conductor or orchestral conductor, your principal study
will be in conducting. As an ensemble conductor, you will work with
string and wind ensembles and big bands, and can function as an ensemble
leader in both amateur and semi-professional music. Practical ensemble conducting will form an important part of the student's education. Orchestra Conducting - Advanced Postgraduate Programme
Description
As a student in the three or four-year orchestral conductor programme,
you will specialise in the many possibilities of the symphony orchestra.
To support your conducting, you will receive tuition in the analysis of
form and structure, instrumentation, aural studies and coaching with
répétiteur. Practical ensemble experience will form an important part of your
education. Here you will be able to work intensively to perfect your
conducting technique, and you will be coached in artistic interpretation

The principal study is in music production and
recording techniques. Tuition is also provided in aural studies, basic piano,
music theory, history of music and much more. In addition to semester projects,
set productions and optional subjects, you can participate in study trips,
master classes, music evenings, company visits, listening tests,
