WHO ARE WE?

Business Academy SouthWest is a part of the Danish higher education system. We are similar to Universities of Applied Science and our degrees combine a solid academy foundation with the transferable skills demanded in todays continuously evolving job market.

Business Academy SouthWest offers a wide range of higher education programmes that qualify students for many different career opportunities. Both Academy Profession (AP) and Bachelor’s prorgrammes are available in a range of fields.

AP degree programmes last 2-2 ½ years and it enables students to start working life right away or to continue studying for a bachelor degree.

The Bachelor’s top-ups take 1 ½ years and are for students who have already completed an AP degree or similar. Witha Bachelor’s degree students can either get a job or study a Master’s programme in Denmark or abroad.

At Business Academy SouthWest we relate theory to practice through internships, company visits, real life cases and our lectures use their industry experience to teach theory. All students at Business Academy SouthWest must complete a compulsory internship as a part of their education. The internship lasts 10 weeks and it can be done in Denmark or abroad.

WHY STUDY AT BASW?

At Business Academy SouthWest we offer 6 different programmes that are taught in English, 3 AP programmes and 4 Bachelor programmes. International students can either choose to study a full programme or one semester.

Business Academy SouthWest has a dynamic and informal study environment. A part from attending lectures, students work together in groups, where each member is expected to contribute actively to discussions and paper-writing as well as being able to work independently. The students’ own critical and analytical initiative is a very important element of higher education in Denmark. This study form requires a lot of hard and independent work, which is academically rewarding for the individual student.

Internationalisation is a key part of our study programmes. It is achieved through study trips, internships abroad, study exchange, guest lectures from international partners andparticipation in international projects.

Almost 20% of our students are international and this creates an international atmosphere at the academy with great cultural diversity.

Innovative skills are considered as one of the most important skills for employees in the future. At Business Academy SouthWest we constantly work with innovation as key to success for both our students and our lecturers. All students will participate in innovation camps in close collaboration with companies.
