International students in Denmark

Headline

Aarhus School of Architecture offers an academic education centred around three
approaches to architecture: an artistic, a scientific, and a practice-based.

We are rooted in a Scandinavian architectural tradition, and our work is based on
the vision Engaging Through Architecture. We strive to train versatile architects
who can help develop tomorrow’s physical environment.

Teaching at the school is facilitated through students’ design projects. All projects
receive individual supervision, and we stress the importance of close dialogue
between teachers and students. We teach our students to master space, form, and
composition and they acquire a thorough understanding of materiality.

Description

Aarhus School of Architecture offers a two-year Master's degree programme.

During the first year of MA studies, the students either choose to continue on the teaching programme they picked on the BA or they switch to another programme. In either case, they follow the selected teaching programme for the remaining study period.

The students are organised in studios that allow for specialisation in e.g. sustainability or urban planning. Theory-based teaching and students receiving supervision from external mentors in subjects related to practice are mandatory elements of the MA programme.

The MA students can choose to do a six-month internship during the first year of the programme. The fourth and final semester of the MA programme is devoted to the
graduation project.

On successful completion of a master degree, you are awarded the title: Master of Arts (MA) in Architecture.

Career opportunities: our master programmes in architecture train you to work professionally as an architect in the fields of research, artistic development and practice.
