Description

The Master of Science in engineering programme Electronic Systems at Aalborg University is a two-year, research-based full-time study programme of 120 ECTS.

Electronic Systems is comprised by the overall subjects of signal processing, acoustics, control and automation and communication technologies including radio communication.

You learn about stochastic systems and signals and their mathematical modelling, and how models can be applied in the analysis and design of complex interconnected/distributed systems. In addition, you are taught methods for data acquisition and measurement, including physical sensor construction and applications. You moreover gain knowledge on theories and methods for design and implementation of resource optimal real-time systems on embedded platforms, and you obtain experience in modelling and optimisation of complex systems for example relating to complex control, reliable communication or advanced machine learning/signal processing.

As a specialist in Electronic Systems, you will be able to make a difference in areas such as
  • Better antennas for improved communication and physical avoidance of radio signals
  • Intelligent electrical systems, ensuring better utilisation of e.g. sustainable energy sources
  • Ultra-reliable communication for e.g. police and other authorities
  • Industry 4.0 and 5G
  • Machine intelligence for everyday life efficiency such as commute estimation, fraud prevention in home banking, e-mail spam filters and medical diagnosis and healthcare to name a few.
You have access to high-standard facilities, such as anechoic chambers, 5G Smart Production Lab, Radio Connectivity Lab and RF Integrated systems and Circuits Lab.

Career Opportunities

Candidates are likely to find employment within areas such as wireless and mobile communication, complex electronic and electromechanical systems, design, development, construction and/or test of control systems and autonomous systems, etc.

Hiring companies could be (not limited to):
  • Grundfos
  • Danfoss
  • Siemens Wind Power
  • Dansk Energi
  • Telenor
  • Motorola
  • Nokia Bell Labs
  • NRGI Net
  • Niras
