Description
The BSc Shipping provides you with an understanding of the context and strategies of the global shipping industry, and prepares you for efficiently planning and managing shipping operations. The BSc Shipping is different from all the other programmes at CBS in that it focuses directly on just one industry. Rather than a general understanding of business conditions and business economics, you will develop a specific understanding of how shipping companies operate, how they develop strategies and business networks and how to plan and manage in an industry that operates in a global context, which is constantly changing.

Career Opportunities
BSc Shipping is a highly specialised programme that focuses on just one industry, international shipping. However, the focus on that one industry covers many different areas. The economic conditions and changes that shipping companies have to understand and adapt to.Topics range from understanding the very practical and hands-on operative decisions shipping companies have to make each day to the strategic long term development of services, finances and industry cooperation. Indeed it is characteristic of the shipping industry that day-to-day operations and overall business strategy are very closely linked. Those in charge of running operations constantly have to adapt to the changes in overall strategy made at the higher company levels – and those who make the overall strategic and financial decisions constantly have to draw on the input they get from the operational side of the business where challenges and needs for new services are often spotted first.
