Campus Frederiksberg Campus
Duration 2 years
Tuition per term (Non-EU/EAA/CH) 6250 EUR
Website http://www.cbs.dk/en/study/graduate/e-business

Description

E-business focuses on the opportunities that IT can provide when private and public organisations interact with their costumers, clients or stakeholders. You will learn to understand and develop IT-based concepts that match the needs of the users, but also how to implement and commercialize them. This allows you to create services, apps and other solutions that support the strategy and desired goal for both companies and society at large.

E-business is primarily a programme, which links practical business understanding with an understanding of different types of digital platforms for trade, information, and communication - often with a focus on interaction.

This programme teaches you to develop and work with digital solutions - all very different, however, with the common characteristic that the user is put first. While IT solutions in other contexts often are about doing things faster or cheaper, E-business is also about doing something, which has not been done before - or make existing solutions better. That is how E-business adds value.

Read more about the programme on http://www.cbs.dk/en/study/graduate/e-business

Career Opportunities

E-business graduates often cover a broad scope of IT-related tasks and responsibilities. They use their competences within project management, management, organisation, and business to a large extent. Some graduates work in E-business consultancy. Others work with the development of E-business solutions, or are employed in companies using E-business platforms.

About the degree

Description

You will learn to combine theoretical insight with an understanding of the practical challenges of strategy, organisation and leadership. This will give you a better understanding of management in a world of continuous change, and of how actions at individual and group level relate to the broader picture of business strategies and society at large.

The SOL programme  will have a strong focus on leading edge theories. These scientific theories are abstract, yet practical in the sense that they relate to organisations and their challenges.  You will look at the organisations from many different perspectives and thus have a more holistic approach when  working with theories in practice. The aim is to give you this holistic understanding of managing in organisations rather than provide you with tools. Tools of management are introduced in the programme, but as examples and not as directions for best practice. The aim is to provide you with understanding of how some tools perform in the big  picture.

This will allow you to lead and manage innovation and change projects within a company’s marketing function, but also at a corporate and strategic level.

The focus is on driving business development by working out original and credible business plans for new products, services, brands and processes, or for radically modified or new business models.  You will learn to approach innovation by giving end-users prime attention and consideration, and by partnering with other companies in research and development of new products, services or technologies. Description

The BSc IBP teaches you how economic and political forces shape the globalised world - and how companies and political institutions readjust their business strategies and working methods to meet political challenges.

Companies and institutions constantly have to face the challenges of an increasingly internationalised world. Issues like the financial crisis, climate change, and new powerful economies are top priorities. The BSc IBP will prepare you for these changes by teaching you how businesses and governments cooperate and compete to create responses to such developments and challenges.

Read more about the programme on cbs.dk/ibp

Career Opportunities

The IBP is broad and interdisciplinary, combining political science, economics, and business studies.  It means that you will get a theoretical tool-box,  enabling you to analyse both the business perspective and the political dimensions of, for instance, a proposal to invest in a politically unstable country.

This gives you a good foundation for a Master’s degree, which is what most students choose to do afterwards. It also gives you sound basis for working in many professions, such as strategy, consultancy, journalism, politics, or other international positions. Some students also choose to start their own business.

About the degree

The structure of the programme is not as clear as some of the other programmes at CBS. Sometimes you will have semesters, meaning that you will follow 4 courses and end the semester with exams. Other semesters will be divided into 2 quarters, meaning that you will follow 2 subjects at a time for a period of 8 weeks. Each quarter ends with examinations. Description

The BSc Shipping provides you with an understanding of the context and strategies of the global shipping industry, and prepares you for efficiently planning and managing shipping operations.

The BSc Shipping is different from all the other programmes at CBS in that it focuses directly on just one industry. Rather than a general understanding of business conditions and business economics, you will develop a specific understanding of how shipping companies operate, how they develop strategies and business networks and how to plan and manage in an industry that operates in a global context, which is constantly changing.

Read more about the programme on cbs.dk/shipping

Career Opportunities

BSc Shipping is a highly specialised programme that focuses on just one industry, international shipping. However, the focus on that one industry covers many different areas. The economic conditions and changes that shipping companies have to understand and adapt to.

Topics range from understanding the very practical and hands-on operative decisions shipping companies have to make each day to the strategic long term development of services, finances and industry cooperation. Indeed it is characteristic of the shipping industry that day-to-day operations and overall business strategy are very closely linked. Those in charge of running operations constantly have to adapt to the changes in overall strategy made at the higher company levels – and those who make the overall strategic and financial decisions constantly have to draw on the input they get from the operational side of the business where challenges and needs for new services are often spotted first.

About the degree

The BSc in International Business is a three-year bachelor programme. The academic year runs from September through June and is divided into 4 quarters. Each quarter is 8 weeks and ends with examinations. Examinations take place 4 times a year in October, December/January, April and May/June, respectively. The programme consists of a number of obligatory courses, some elective courses, internship and exchange; and it ends with a Bachelor project.

CBP students have an overview of the basic business administration tools, thus making sure that the inputs from creative minds are not disturbed by issues of e.g. budget and legal issues when negotiating agreements between e.g. artists and a record company. They are able  to work problem- oriented by creating an overview, analysinge, processing data to create knowledge and acting on the findings. E.g. creating and sharing knowledge and ideas.

  • Agent for established firm looking for  collaboration with small artistic startups
  • Academic employee in public/semi-public cultural or creative institutions

Description

By exploring similarities and differences in contemporary challenges to the welfare of citizens in China and Europe, you will learn to manage and participate in social innovation at the interface between the public and private sectors in China as well as Europe.

In order to understand the background of the current challenges like social mobility or changes in demography, students will be introduced to the emergence and development of Chinese and European societies, cultures, institutions and practices. Seeing the differences and similarities between the two regions will allow you a nuanced approach to meet the challenges.

The solution lies in social innovation that can improve current welfare models. You will investigate the strengths and weaknesses of different models, and find out how they work. And through the use of empirical analyses you will learn how future solutions can be created in cooperation between public and private sectors.

Read more about the programme here.

Career Opportunities

An alumni association for the programme will be created. It will be a tightly-knit group of people concerned with the same issues and in time it will become a strong alumni network which will be a career advantage. Graduates will have in-depth knowledge of  China and the EU from both an academic, a cultural and a personal point of view. They will be able to identify problems in this cross-field and, using social science methods combined with analysis and information retrieval tools, they will be able to create innovative solutions.

In addition to this, graduates will have hands-on experience with Chinese language and culture, and with intercultural cooperation.

It is not yet possible to predict exactly where graduates will find career paths. However, you will be qualified to work with project management, strategic, operational and policy development in public organisations, NGOs and private companies concerned with welfare reforms, social development and national business system issues. The global perspective of PMSD opens up a wide range of possibilities, and the immersion in Chinese society enables you to assist the many companies that currently flow into China.

About the degree

The MSocSc in Public Management and Social Development is  a collaboration between CBS and the Chinese university GUCAS. You will therefore get a degree from both a Danish and a Chinese University.

The programme is taught in China with both Chinese and European students and teachers, which means you will be learning both inside and outside the classroom, and the line between study and leisure time is blurred. The experience builds competencies that you could never get from reading a book.
