Description

The MSc in Immunology and Inflammation is a theoretical and experimental Master's programme within the natural and health sciences. It qualifies you to find solutions as well as design new therapy strategies to combat human diseases.

Immunology and inflammation are the fields within medicine and biology concerned with immunity, the immune system and the way the body reacts to injury or infection.
As an immunologist you have highly specialized knowledge of and competences within immunology, autoimmune and other inflammatory diseases, allergies, tumour immunology, and related topics such as immune-pathology, -toxicology, -pharmacology, -therapy, and translational medicine.

Moreover, the MSc in Immunology and Inflammation focus on methodologies and newly developed in vitro and in vivo models. This will complement you with practical skills for a better and faster integration in your future career within immunology.

Admission Requirements

If you have completed a Bachelor’s degree within the last 5 years or if you are enrolled in the final semester of a Bachelor’s programme, you are eligible to apply for the Master’s programme in Immunology and Inflammation.  Regardless of which university you are enrolled at, you can - if you meet the admission and language requirements - apply on the basis of a relevant Bachelor’s degree.

Bachelor’s degrees that grant directly qualification: If you hold one of the following Bachelor's degrees from a Danish university, you are considered to meet all admission requirements and are directly qualified to apply to the MSc in Immunology and Inflammation:
  • Biology
  • Biochemistry
  • Molecular Biomedicine/Molecular Medicine
  • Veterinary Medicine
Other relevant Bachelor's Degrees

If you hold a Bachelor’s degree other than the above mentioned from a university in Denmark or abroad you may be admitted if it is the assessment of the admissions committee that your Bachelor programme is equivalent in scope and content to one of the Bachelor programmes listed above.

Academic, language and graduation year requirements
  • Academic requirements: You must document that you have passed courses on university/college level within the following areas:
    • A total of at least 30 ECTS credits within 3 of 4 areas: Cell biology, biochemistry, genetics and/or molecular biology.
  • Language requirements: You are required to document proficiency in English according to your background; see the language requirements.

  • Graduation year requirement: You must have earned your Bachelor’s degree within a maximum of 5 years prior to the start of the first semester of the Master’s programme. (In exceptional circumstances the admissions committee may waive the graduation year requirements).

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside EU/EEA/Switzerland. Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

North Campus

Description

North Campus

With the Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet) as the next door neighbour, the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences are very well placed in the North Campus. North Campus is an ideal setting for interdisciplinary reseach fields. Massive investments in research infrastructure, including the construction of the Niels Bohr Building and the Maersk Building,  are currently being made to develop the area around the North Campus into Copenhagen Science City. North Campus is very centrally located and transport links are excellent. Many students and teacher  also use their bike, and biking in Copenhagen is easy and convenient.
