The MFA in Performing Arts provides the framework for you - as an emerging artist - to pursue your personal, artistic trajectory, and deepen and develop your professional competencies while working cross-disciplinary with your fellow students on projects, festivals and the overarching research project “Imagining the future”.
The programme offers
  • a creative space to tomorrow’s artists
  • seven specialisations where you get to deepen and develop your practice, through inspirational learning and co-creation
  • cross-disciplinary work with fellow students and faculty members, including the creation and curation of a festival
  • room to pursue your own artistic vision – inspired by the rest of the programme, mentored by a member of the Master's team
  • international learning environment and network.
The two-year master’s programme is made up of three interacting main tracks: specialisation, programme and individual module.

As a student, you and your artistic work will be part of the overarching artistic research project “Imagining the future”. The programme will actively contribute to the creation of stories that catalyse society to engage with and participate in a new adventure, and in co-creating the future.

Internships/practice and Final Project will partly be developed together with different institutions in Denmark and abroad according to the individual student's artistic project.
Every student will follow an independent path through the programme, according to his or her specialisation and the programme as a whole.

Throughout the programme, students can participate in a range of subjects that align with the areas of knowledge and forms of practice that the student wishes to develop and qualify for at the highest professional level.

Career opportunities

With a Master's degree in Performing Arts you will be equipped to independently initiate, organise, and complete artistic works, projects, and productions.
You will be an agent of change introducing new paradigms and forms of expression, as well as new collaborative ways of working in terms of co-creating to the field of performing arts.
