Description

In our high-tech society there is a great need for advanced knowledge about materials, because the materials often determine a product’s quality, durability, functionality etc. By studying Materials Technology you can participate in the development of the materials of the future.

During the two-year Master's programme in Materials and Nanotechnology with specialisation in Materials Technology, you will obtain an understanding of the issues that industrial production companies, consulting engineering companies, certification companies, and research institutions meet when they produce and use materials. Furthermore, you will learn how to apply this knowledge in practice.
You will gain knowledge of different engineering materials such as plastic, composite materials, alloys, and steel, while you also gain a competence profile in the field of solid mechanics.The programme is cross-disciplinary and contains elements from physics, chemistry, nanotechnology, and traditional mechanical engineering.

Career Opportunities

With a Master’s degree in Materials Technology you will be able to work in private or public companies where a central part of the job is a profound knowledge of the properties of materials, knowledge of manufacturing and processing methods, and the interaction between these.
You can work as for instance:
  • Development or production engineer
  • Specialist
  • Project manager
  • Production or development manager
You can work in both Danish and international industrial production companies, consulting engineering companies, certification companies, and research institutions.

Admission

Admission to the Master's programme in Materials Technology requires:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering (mechanical engineering and manufacturing);
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering (nanotechnology with specialisation in physics);
  • A Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Industry;
  • A Bachelor of Engineering in Nanotechnology, Bachelor of Science in Physics, or
  • A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

In addition, documentation will be required to verify that your proficiency in English is at an acceptable level.
