Description

In order to make future construction projects more exciting, secure and sustainable, this programme focuses on the development, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure.

This requires profound knowledge and understanding of a number of different areas, which is why the MSc in Civil Engineering offers a wide range of courses in mechanics, material science, energy technology, heat and mass transfer, fire safety, hydraulics, acoustics, risk assessment, computer modelling and simulation, 3D visualization, communication, and management.

The MSc programme in Civil Engineering is divided into four specializations:
  • Building Structures
  • Building Services
  • Civil Works and Marine Structures
  • Urban and Construction Management

Depending on your specialisation, you will study disciplines such as:
  • Mechanics

Career Opportunities 

Civil engineers typically find employment in consulting engineering companies, as contractors or manufacturers. Others work for local authorities, public agencies, or educational and research institutions.

Description

DTU’s main campus consists of more than 100 buildings on a 106-hectare plain, which is divided into four quadrants—just like points in a coordinate system. The campus is safe and secure, and a site of great natural beauty with wooded areas, sports fields, inner courtyards, and gardens.  

The campus is located within the Greater Copenhagen Area and is easily accessed by car or public transport. You can get from DTU to Copenhagen Center in about 40 minutes by bus or trian, 45 minutes by bike and 20 minutes by car.

Most of the DTU main campus was build in the 1960s and 1970s, but new and modern facilities have been build continuously. DTU is currently investing more than 500,000,000 EUR in a comprehensive transformation of the university buildings and infrastructure, which is aimed at providing world-class research and student facilities.
