The programme offers a unique combination of sociological and anthropological theory. It has a practice-oriented approach where you learn advanced methodological skills of interviewing, statistics and field research.  

Compulsory courses
1st semester  •Advanced Quantitative Methods •Advanced Theoretical Approaches in Cultural Sociology •Law, Power and Professions •Advanced Qualitative Methods 
2nd semester •The Cultural Sociology Project •When lawyers meet their clients 
3rd semester •Project work in a company /institution (Denmark or abroad) + project work or    •Studies abroad or •Studies at the University of Southern Denmark or another Danish University
4th semester •Master´s thesis

Admission  

Applicants with a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from their previous University are qualified for admission. Applicants with a professional bachelor degree and other qualifying degrees may have access provided certain demands are fulfilled. 

Students with a bachelor degree in one of the other Social Sciences (e.g. Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, and Law) and from the Humanities (e.g. Communication, Religion, Journalism, and History) will be evaluated and decided by the Study Board.

Students with a professional bachelor’s degree (e.g. social worker, police officer, primary school teacher) will be evaluated and decided by the Study Board.

Tuition Fees and Scholarships

No tuition fees for EU/EEA/Swiss students.
There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside of EU/EAA/Switzerland.

SDU offers 75 scholarships yearly. The scholarship consists of two parts: full tuition fee waiver and a grant, to help cover living costs amounting to $ 950 per month before taxes. Candidates must come from a non-EU/EEA country and be eligible to pay tuition fees. The scholarship will be awarded to the best qualified of the eligible applicants. All eligible applicants who are offered a study place, will automatically be considered for the scholarship. No separate application is needed. The best-qualified candidates based on points will be awarded the scholarship.
