• Functional Materials: e.g. material chemistry, chemical metallurgy and corrosion..
• Chemical Process Engineering: e.g. advanced separation techniques (membrane processes, crystallisation techniques), catalysis, engineering and modelling.
• Eco-efficient Engineering: e.g. environmental system analysis, eco-innovation of systems and products, and water technology.
The first 3 semesters of the programme consist of coursework with theory and laboratory work, while the last semester comprises an independent research project leading to a master thesis. The research for the master thesis can be carried out within the University of Southern Denmark or in collaboration with an industrial company or an academic institution, which may be situated either in Denmark or abroad.

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside of EU/EAA/Switzerland.
SDU offers 75 scholarships yearly. The scholarship consists of two parts: full tuition fee waiver and a grant, to help cover living costs amounting to $ 950 per month before taxes. Candidates must come from a non-EU/EEA country and be eligible to pay tuition fees. The scholarship will be awarded to the best qualified of the eligible applicants. All eligible applicants who are offered a study place, will automatically be considered for the scholarship. No separate application is needed. The best-qualified candidates based on points will be awarded the scholarship.

Admission
- A Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical or Bioprocess Engineering.
- Applicants with a similar bachelor’s degree if their academic qualifications correspond with the bachelor degrees mentioned above.
